LANDSCAPES
The landscape before me is a shingle beach, a lovingly tended garden that brims with growth and a Nature Reserve that all contain a treasure trove of plant, animal and bird life. The endless shapes and patterns from the shifting sands and banks of shingle, the changes in light, especially that which is reflected from the stones, the uninterrupted vista punctuated by distant boats, Dungeness and the eroding groynes have provided daily sources of observation. I draw wherever I go, whether abroad or in this country, and I always find that I am drawn to landscape. Because I am a part of it, my spiritual sense of being is strengthened and calmed.
